Teenage striker signs on at Ewood Park

Blackburn have completed the capture of Barcelona academy graduate Ruben Rochina for an undisclosed fee. The 19-year-old has penned a contract at Ewood Park that is set to run until the summer of 2015. Rovers boss Steve Kean is delighted to have brought the youngster on board and believes he is capable of pushing for a regular first-team role. "Ruben is a genuine addition to our senior squad, a young player with great ability who can play in a number of attacking positions," he told the club's official website. "He joins our elite development group, alongside the likes of Phil Jones and Junior Hoilett, and will compete for a place in the team from the word go.

Exciting

"The fact that we are able to sign young players from the likes of Barcelona is further evidence of the owners' intention to push the club forward. "They told me they were keen to add to our youth development group and this is a significant and exciting signing for us." Rochina has spent the last seven years with Barcelona and has been a regular in their B side for the past couple of seasons. He has represented Spain at various youth levels and was part of their U19 side at the European Championships last summer.
