Rovers forward happy to be scoring goals

Junior Hoilett knows Blackburn must maintain their momentum if they want to keep picking up crucial points after beating Sunderland on Tuesday evening. Rovers claimed a second successive win as they saw off the Black Cats 2-0 at Ewood Park, with Hoilett opening the scoring before Yakubu doubled their advantage late on. The forward has netted three goals in two games and hopes he can carry on scoring as Steve Kean's men look to avoid Premier League relegation. "Of course, if we keep playing like this we can keep gaining points, important points, to get us away from the relegation zone," he told Sky Sports.

Working hard

"The team has done well, we've done well in training and we're working hard so every time I get the chance to put the ball in the net I'll put it in there." Blackburn looked the brighter side in the first half but failed to break the deadlock, with Yakubu coming close only to see his effort cleared off the line by Phil Bardsley. Hoilett says manager Kean urged them to keep pushing at half-time and was pleased to see the results of their efforts. The 21-year-old said: "The manager told us to start out how we started in the first half and keep attacking."
