Blackburn chiefs consider future of manager

Sky Sports understands that Blackburn Rovers' owners held talks with manager Steve Kean over the weekend. Reports have suggested that Kean is set to be removed from the Ewood Park hot-seat following Friday's Championship defeat at home to Middlesbrough. The 2-1 loss to Boro was Blackburn's first of the season, but Kean has been under huge pressure since Rovers' relegation from the Premier League last term. Owners Venky's have backed Kean throughout, although it is believed Venkatesh and Balaji Rao were more open to his removal whilst Anuradha Desai stood firm. Now Kean is believed to have met the owners and they are 'considering' the managerial situation. It is also thought Venky's are worried by the falling attendances at Ewood Park. Further question marks over Kean's future arose when the club's global advisor Shebby Singh - the link between the family and the club - was spotted at White Hart Lane on Sunday, which led to claims former Rovers skipper Tim Sherwood, who is now coach at Tottenham, was on their radar.
