The 24-year-old, who moved to Ewood Park for £8million from Huddersfield in 2012, has enjoyed another impressive season in which he has netted 22 goals.
However, Gary Bowyer's side sit seven points adrift of the top six and their hopes of achieving a play-off spot this campaign look slim after winning just one of their last eight Championship outings.
Rhodes admitted that it would take something special to achieve promotion this season, but says that top-flight football with Rovers is still his ambition.
"When we wake up in the morning that's what everyone at this club is striving for," he told the Lancashire Telegraph.
"This club deserves Premier League status again and if we go on a phenomenal run between now and the end of the season you never know - but it might be next season now.
"But we'll take one game at a time, try and do our best and with that mentality in mind we'll see where we are come May 3."
Rhodes also admits that he has a point to prove after he struggled to make the cut at Ipswich and Roy Keane allowed him to move to Huddersfield in 2009.
He said: "Absolutely, you want to prove one or two people wrong with a couple of decisions that have been made previously in your career.
"I'm just going to continue to try and do my best and hopefully one day I'll look back on my career and say, 'yes, you made a mistake'."
