Sky Bet Championship: Blackburn's Jason Steele delighted by victorious debut

Goalkeeper Jason Steele was thrilled to begin his spell at Blackburn by keeping a clean sheet in their 1-0 win at Fulham on Saturday.

The 24-year-old is on loan at Ewood Park from Middlesbrough and was deputising for knee injury victim Paul Robinson at Craven Cottage.

Steele, who fell out of favour at the Riverside under Boro boss Aitor Karanka, was making only his second senior appearance of 2014 and helped Gary Bowyer's men gain all three points.

"The gaffer said to me to do what I do best and do what I enjoy and it was great to be back on a football pitch," Steele told Blackburn's official website. "It has been a little while.

"Credit has to go to the staff for bringing me in and giving me a bit of love that I needed.

"It was a great opportunity for me and I'm delighted that we've won. The clean sheet gives me an immense amount of satisfaction and pride. To win 1-0 away from home in this league is always great."
