Aston Villa have entered the race to sign Fulham striker Ross McCormack, according to Sky sources.

It is understood Villa made a £12m offer for the Scotland international on Tuesday afternoon as boss Roberto Di Matteo looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the start of the new season.

Norwich City have already made a bid in excess of £10m for McCormack after two earlier offers were rejected by Fulham.
