Aston Villa's Jack Grealish has been suspended for three games for violent conduct during Steve Bruce's first game as manager against Wolves.

The midfielder kicked out at Conor Coady during the game on Saturday, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

The incident was not seen by the match officials but caught on video and as a result of the charge Grealish will miss Villa's games against Reading, Fulham and the derby against Birmingham City.

The 21-year-old accepted the charge but contested that the automatic penalty of a three-match suspension would be excessive.

This claim was rejected following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing on Tuesday.

The ban is the second one Grealish will serve this season, having sat out Aston Villa's game against Newcastle United in September as the club conducted an internal investigation over reports of an alleged breach of club discipline by the midfielder.
