The 19-year-old has moved to The Abbey Stadium as manager John Taylor bolsters his injury-hit squad.
"We've had good reports about him and I've seen him a couple of times," confirmed Taylor
"He's a left-sided wing back who likes to get forward so we're hoping that he's going to link well on the left of midfield with Fred Murray.
"He'll start at Bury, which gives us the chance to rest Luke Guttridge, and there may be three people in midfield who didn't start the game on Wednesday."
Meanwhile, Cambridge have handed new contracts to Daniel Chillingworth, Guttridge, Alex Revell, Adam Tann and Franco Nacca.
The first four have signed three-and-a-half-year deals, while Nacca has agreed a one-year extension.
"Four of them have signed for the rest of this season and another three years after that," said manager John Taylor.
"Franco has been unfortunate with injuries but we think a lot of him and once he gets a run we'll obviously look at his situation straightaway.
"They've all done tremendously well. We know they need a rest, we know they're tired, but the way they've been playing, and with the people watching, we know if we hadn't tied them up soon we could have lost them.
"If they had a different agent we might have lost them in the summer and had to go to a tribunal but we've now got them on board.
"They all wanted to stay here, they've all enjoyed their taste of first team football so far and they want more, so they're loving it here."
