The 26-year-old has been relegated to third choice behind Thomas Sorensen and Stefan Postma under the former Leeds United manager so far this season.
Enckelman's custodial errors that led to derby defeats versus arch-rivals Birmingham City last season looks to have prompted O'Leary to strengthen in the goalkeeping area by bringing in Sorensen from First Division side Sunderland last month.
With the former TPS Turku keeper falling down the pecking order at Villa Park, there are suggestions that his days at the club may be numbered, though O'Leary admitted that he has not spoken to the Nordic star about the current goalkeeping situation.
"I've not spoken to him about it, but I've brought in a very good goalkeeper (Sorensen) and that is it," said the Irishman.
