Bristol City believe striker Leroy Lita will sign a new contract in the near future.Bristol City player-manager Brian Tinnion believes striker Leroy Lita will sign a new contract with the club.
The 20-year-old has been prolific in front of goal for the West Country club, having scored 27 times in all competitions this term.
The England Under-21 hit-man's exploits have prompted speculation that the former Ashton Gate trainee may be tempted to a move to a bigger club.
Recent reports suggested that Aston Villa assistant manager Roy Aitken was present to watch Lita during the club's costly 2-0 home defeat to Bournemouth on Tuesday - a result that leaves The Robins with much to do to reach the League One play-offs this season.
Despite the links, Tinnion is confident Lita will want to extend his current contract with the club.
"We have had no inquiries about Leroy as yet and I don't believe he will be going anywhere," Tinnion told the club's official website.
"I think he will sign a new contract here in the near future. We are not far away and talks have been very positive.
"He knows we can help him develop his talent to become an even better player than he is now.
"He is committed to Bristol City."
