Thomas Sorensen says he is willing to battle for his place at Aston Villa.
Thomas Sorensen says he is willing to battle all comers if David O'Leary brings a new keeper to Aston Villa in the close season.
The Denmark international has had a disappointing campaign, by his own admission, but is not getting concerned by reports linking the Midlanders with a swoop on Sheffield United for Paddy Kenny.
"Of course, that's part of the game," he explained to Sky Sports News.
"I'm really looking forward to next season and I want to really put my foot down and get back to the form I produced last year.
"So it's going to be a big challenge. I'm going to work ever so hard over the summer and make sure I'm ready when the season kicks off."
Sorensen is delighted that his former club Sunderland have made it back to The Premiership after being crowned Coca-Cola League champions.
"I am so happy for them," he enthused.
"I've followed them ever since I left.
"It's a fantastic place and going back to The Stadium of Light will be a dream come true."
