Levante's recruitment drive ahead has continued apace with another two signings.
Levante's recruitment drive ahead of the new Primera season has continued apace with another two signings.
The Valencia-based outfit have now concluded deals for Aston Villa man Mathieu Berson and another midfielder, Internazionale's Brazilian international Ze Maria.
Berson joins on a three-year deal having finally secured an end to his nightmare spell in England.
Having been signed by David O'Leary, he failed to make the grade at Villa Park and spent the second half of last season on loan at Auxerre.
The Frenchman is expected in Spain at the end of the week to undergo a medical and sign his contract with Levante.
Ze Maria, 33, arrives from Inter having fallen out of the first team picture at the Giuseppe Meazza.
The South American operates on the right of midfield or at wing back and has agreed a one-year deal with the option of a second should he impress.
The two new captures take Levante's total of summer signings to ten, although their transfer activity might not be at an end as they have also been linked with Swiss international goalkeeper Diego Benaglio, who plays for Maritimo in Portugal, and Marseille striker Peguy Luyindula.
Meanwhile, the club have also confirmed that Ian Harte will undergo surgery on his left knee on Wednesday and is likely to be out for five or six weeks.
