Taylor worry for Villa

Martin O'Neill has confirmed that Stuart Taylor suffered a knee injury at Sheffield United.

Martin O'Neill has confirmed that Aston Villa goalkeeper Stuart Taylor suffered a knee injury in the game against Sheffield United.

Taylor appeared to be limping towards the end of Monday's 2-2 draw and was unable to take goal-kicks.

O'Neill was full of praise for Taylor's performance but admitted that his injury was a concern ahead of Saturday's clash with Bolton.

"Stuart made some great saves but he picked up a knee injury," said O'Neill.

"He was examined by the physios and doctors after the game. Hopefully we'll have more news soon."

With Villa number one Thomas Sorensen still recovering from the knee injury he sustained in a collision with Middlesbrough defender Emanuel Pogatetz last month, O'Neill will be hoping that Taylor overcomes his problem.

Austria Under-21 keeper Robert Olejnik is next in line and could make his first-team debut if Taylor is ruled out.

Villa's only other options are 18-year-olds Lee Boyle and Stephen Henderson.
