Aston Villa manager Martin O' Neill has hinted that some of his fringe players will be loaned to Football League clubs in order to gain first-team football.
Although the transfer window is now closed, clubs outside the Premier League will be able to bring in loan players from the weekend.
And O'Neill is expecting plenty of enquiries for certain players in his large Villa squad.
Speaking in the Birmingham Mail, he said: "I explore any possibility of things that can suit the player and perhaps the club. I'm not talking about any particular player here.
"The minute we sign any player, we get inundated with calls from clubs wanting to loan this and that player," he added.
It is thought that several members of the Villa squad will be targeted, including Republic of Ireland international Stephen O'Halloran.
The 19-year-old spent part of last season on loan at Wycombe and is now being linked with a move to Ipswich Town.
Other candidates for a loan move include Gary Cahill and Isaiah Osbourne, and the Villa boss added: "I'll review the situation and see what might suit both the club and the players."
However, O'Neill is adamant that he wants healthy competition for places at Villa Park.
He is pleased with having more than one player for each position, especially in goal where he has three options - Scott Carson, Thomas Sorenson and Stuart Taylor.
"The competition for places is something that this time last year I would have said didn't really exist," he stated.
I'm not just talking about the goalkeeper positions, but everywhere. It's weird but people are breathing down other people's necks now."
