Villa boss has no qualms about starting Austrian starlet

Alex McLeish has admitted that he will have no qualms about continuing with Austrian starlet Andreas Weimann in his starting line-up. The 20-year-old has enjoyed a run in the Aston Villa first team in recent weeks which has seen score twice. After his latest goal against Stoke, McLeish admits he can see a role for Weimann, forming an attack with Stephen Ireland and Gabby Agbonlahor "Near the end, Stevie Ireland put a fantastic defence-splitter in for Weimann," he added. "I thought it was the match-winner. Andi said he looked for Gabby and he said when he saw Gabby was too close to him he lost his moment. "But it was brilliant play from Ireland. If we can get the service into Weimann and Gabby we can get goals." McLeish was delighted with Weimann's contribution throughout against Stoke, adding: "It was a fantastic strike. "We needed a wee bit of inspiration at that time. "I thought we needed to get shots at goal in early parts of the game and force corners and move the ball quickly. "We maybe let Stoke get set on too many occasions early in the game and then Andreas's goal was truly inspirational - something out of nothing. "He's manoeuvred himself into the corner and it's a wonderful goal from a great young prospect. "He is a finisher and a good finisher at that, as you saw from that one. "Some players are great goalscorers while others are scorers of great goals. Andi proved he can be both. Goals talk. It will be hard to leave him out."
