The 28-year-old lost his place at Villa Park to Matthew Lowton last season and was sent out on loan to Nottingham Forest and Real Mallorca.
With first-team opportunities set to be limited at the Midlands club again this campaign the former Rangers man is resigned to moving elsewhere.
Hutton played the full 90 minutes for Scotland in their 3-2 friendly loss to England at Wembley on Wednesday and speaking after that game he revealed he was hopeful of sealing a move before the transfer window shuts.
When asked whether he had a future at Villa, Hutton told Sky Sports: "I can't see it. Hopefully something will happen in the next few weeks so I can get away and start playing, doing what I enjoy.
"To play out there [Wembley] was brilliant for me; this is what I want to do week in, week out.
"I've been training hard back at Villa, I had a time over in Spain which I loved so we'll see what the new season brings."
When asked if there were any offers on the table, Hutton added: "Not that I know of.
"I'm just keeping my head down at the moment working hard and I'll see what happens."
