Brighton boss Mark McGhee is to run the rule over Daniel McBreen as he looks to pep-up his attack for the forthcoming campaign.
McBreen was deemed surplus to requirements at Scottish Premier League side Falkirk at the end of last season and is now on the lookout for a new club.
The 29-year-old striker spent the early part of the summer on trial at Northampton but with a deal having failed to materialise, he is to try his hand on the South Coast.
Meanwhile, Newcastle wide man Martin Brittain has also returned to Brighton having spent time training with Phil Parkinson's Hull.
"I've spoken to Phil Parkinson about how they found Martin; everything was very positive about that,'' McGhee told the club's official website.
''They have decided not to sign him for all sorts of reasons which are their business but which I know of and satisfy me."
