Falkirk snub Gers Gow bid

Falkirk have snubbed a second bid from Rangers for Alan Gow.

Falkirk have snubbed a second bid from Rangers for Alan Gow.

The 24-year-old is considering his future at Falkirk with his current contract expiring at the end of the season.

Rangers made a bid for the forward earlier this month which was rejected out of hand by Falkirk.

New Ibrox boss Walter Smith is a big admirer of Gow and the Glasgow club increased their offer for the player only for it to be also rejected by Falkirk.

Falkirk claim the new offer was only a "slight improvement" on the original bid and that they remain keen to keep Gow at the club.

"The remaining months of the season constitute a very important phase for the development of the club and the progress we hope to make," read a Falkirk statement.

"Alan's contribution to this could be significant and therefore all offers in the region of the one received from Rangers Football Club will be rejected.

"We expect Alan Gow will be available for selection for our SPL match against Kilmarnock on Saturday at the start of a very important week for Falkirk Football Club."

One player to arrive at Falkirk is Newcastle United youngster Carl Finnigan after he agreed an 18-month contract with The Bairns.
