Newcastle boss Glenn Roeder has called on the football fraternity to allow Emre to continue his career without vilification, following the midfielder's successful defence against accusations of racism.The Turkey international has endured a difficult three months having been accused of racism, following angry exchanges with Everton's Tim Howard, Joleon Lescott and Joseph Yobo during his side's defeat at Goodison Park on 30th December.
An independent disciplinary commission found a Football Association charge not proven on Monday, and following the hearing, Roeder called for Emre to be given a clean slate as he looks to move on with his career.
"I thought the hearing was very fair and that the decision that has been made was the correct one," said Roeder.
"In the time I have worked with Emre, he has never shown any tendencies towards being racist and, as people know, that is a subject I feel very strongly about.
"Now I just hope Emre will be left alone to resume his career without anything hanging over him.
"It has been a difficult time for Emre but I know he has been very appreciative of the support he has received from everyone within the squad and around the club.
"He is a very well respected member of the squad and he gets on very well with everyone at the club."
While Emre has been cleared of any wrongdoing on this occasion, the Football Association are continuing to investigate further accusations, with Watford midfielder Alhassan Bangura having made similar claims against the Newcastle man.
Emre is currently with the Turkey national squad, preparing for an international double header against Greece and Norway respectively.
