Canaries boss would reject any Toon approach

Norwich boss Glenn Roeder is determined to ward off any advances from Newcastle for assistant manager Lee Clark. Following Kevin Keegan's astonishing return to St James' Park, Clark's name has been in the frame to join his former manager as No.2 in the North-East. But former Toon boss Roeder, who persuaded Clark to leave his post as reserve team manager on Tyneside to join him at Carrow Road, has had no contact from the Magpies and would reject any approach.

Resisted

Roeder told the Norwich Evening News: "I don't know anything about that but any such move would be very, very strongly resisted. "We have had no approach for Lee." Alan Shearer, Chris Coleman and Stuart Pearce have all been linked with a role alongside Keegan at St James' Park.
