Kevin Keegan expects Mark Viduka to be a 'massive asset' for Newcastle United during the closing weeks of the season.
The Australian striker has made just one substitute appearance for the Magpies since Keegan returned for a second stint in charge at St James' Park.
Viduka has struggled for sharpness in recent weeks, but Keegan believes Newcastle will benefit from having the forward firing on all cylinders.
"He'll be a massive asset," Keegan told the Evening Chronicle. "He's very focused, and we're working on his sharpness.
"He's had a couple of setbacks in the last three weeks, but his training has been excellent.
"There's no doubt about it, he's getting his sharpness back every day.
"When he's fit and feels ready, he's a handful in any league in the world and certainly in the Premier League. He's certainly proved that."
Meanwhile, Steve Harper has issued a call to arms to his team-mates as Newcastle face up to a battle for top-flight survival.
The keeper said: "We need all hands on deck if we are to get out of this.
"We cannot do anything about the other teams. It is about what we do that is important.
"We have 12 games left to start getting points."
