Norwegian's agent denies Newcastle move

Per Cikijan Skjelbred's agent has insisted that a deal has not been agreed to take the Norwegian star to Newcastle. Reports in the North East of England suggested that the Magpies had resurrected their interest in Skjelbred, which first emerged in the summer. It had been claimed that Newcastle had already agreed terms with the player's club Rosenborg ahead of a January switch to St James' Park. However, the player's agent Andreas Ekker has denied a deal has been agreed with Newcastle. "I have heard absolutely nothing from Newcastle," he told TV2 Sporten. "I don't know where this is taken from as I haven't spoken to Newcastle at all." Ekker did go on to admit that several Premier League clubs were interested in the highly-rated forward. Reports claim that Bolton, Blackburn, Hull, Tottenham and Aston Villa are all monitoring the 21-year-old's progress.
