Newcastle goalkeeper Steve Harper has said he is still waiting on the offer of a new contract at St James' Park.
Harper, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham and Middlesbrough this season, has often played second fiddle to first-choice keeper Shay Given.
But with the Irish shot-stopper suffering an injury-plagued period it has paved the way for the 33-year-old to put in some impressive performances between the sticks.
Still waiting on a new contract, Harper says he is hopeful of extending his 16-year stint with the club.
"I've really enjoyed the last two years, as I've played over 20 games," Harper told The Chronicle.
"This year has been very difficult. I haven't been able to get a game yet, so it is important to keep ticking over."
Harper, who has figured in a number of reserve games for the Magpies, insists he is not frustrated at being second-choice keeper under Joe Kinnear.
"I am only too happy to play in the reserves," he added.
"Shay's obviously had a very difficult two years with injuries, but he looks to be over that now.
"He's got the shirt, and while he stays fit and keeps doing well, that's the way it's going to be.
"You just keep your head down and soldier on.
"I've been fully committed here for the best part of 16 years, and I'll remain so until someone tells me otherwise."
