Billy Sharp and Alan Smith are contenders for PFA Player of the Month for December in the Championship.

Sharp, Pratley, Boyd and Smith compete for December accolade

Billy Sharp, Darren Pratley, George Boyd and Alan Smith are all in the frame to be voted the PFA Player of the Month for December in the Championship. It will come as no surprise that Doncaster Rovers' Sharp is a leading contender as the on-loan Sheffield United striker has been in red-hot form. He scored in his sixth successive game for Doncaster in the 2-0 victory against Derby last weekend to take his seasonal tally to 11. Swansea talisman Pratley has shone in the centre of Paulo Sousa's midfield this term since recovering from a shoulder injury. Earlier this season the Barking-born player guaranteed his place in Swansea folklore after bagging a brace in the 3-2 victory against Welsh rivals Cardiff. Pratley has continued his impressive goalscoring streak after netting another double in last weekend's 2-0 victory at Sheffield Wednesday to help the Swans climb to fifth. Like Sharp at Doncaster, Peterborough's Boyd is another striker on 11 goals for the season and last weekend he helped new Posh boss Mark Cooper celebrate his first win for the club after a 2-1 victory against Watford. Boyd has made giant strides in the professional game, having scored 35 goals in his 134 appearances for Peterborough. He could be a transfer target in January. Meanwhile, Smith's career may have been blighted by injuries over the last few years, but the 28-year-old Newcastle captain is now back to full fitness and revelling in a more withdrawn midfield role for the high-flying Magpies. Voting is well under way and you have until midnight on 31st December to get your vote in so click here to do so.
