Magpies starlet against Bosnia switch

Newcastle United youngster Haris Vuckic has once again reaffirmed his allegiance to Slovenia and rejected Bosnia. Although the 18-year-old was born in Slovenia, he comes from Bosnian parentage and it was believed that he was wanted by the nation. While Vuckic has acknowledged his Bosnian roots, he considers himself Slovenian and has no thoughts of playing for anyone else. The youngster joined The Magpies in January 2009 and has made seven appearances for the club, but he is yet to start a league game.

Mind made up

"I made my mind up some time ago and I will not change it," Vuckic told Ekipa. "I'm not hiding it. I'm proud of my roots, but I'm also proud of being Slovenian. "Slovenia is my country. I was born there, I made my first steps there and I have friends there. "It would be very hard to say no to Slovenia, but it is always nice that someone else wants you. "But I don't care about the rumours. I've know for a while who I want to play for - Slovenia!"
