Newcastle striker Leon Best has been ruled out for the rest of the season as he requires an ankle operation.
Best has missed Newcastle's last two games with the problem and the club have decided to send him under the knife.
The 24-year-old has scored six goals this season from 10 starts with his latest goal coming in the 2-1 defeat to Everton last month.
Best had enjoyed a regular run in the Newcastle's side in recent months following the sale of Andy Carroll to Liverpool
