Dutch keeper challenged to keep progressing

Alan Pardew has paid tribute to Tim Krul by saying the Newcastle goalkeeper has 'got everything' apart from experience. Krul, 23, has been in exceptional form during the early part of the season to help the Magpies remain unbeaten in the Premier League after 11 games. Newcastle have the best defensive record in the division at the current time and Krul's contribution has been key, as well as the performances of a settled back four and the hard work of everyone else in the team. Krul has certainly repaid Pardew's faith in him after being made first choice ahead of veteran team-mate Steve Harper.

Pardew feels the Dutchman is strong in many areas but has now challenged him to keep progressing. "I think he knows where he's at - he's not the finished article yet," Pardew said in the Daily Mirror. "He's not got the experience, but he's got everything else. "He kicks well, throws well, talks well, he's confident on crosses and he's a great shot stopper.''
