Alan Pardew wants cup final mentality from Newcastle
Alan Pardew has urged Newcastle to adopt a cup final mentality as they strive to move away from the relegation zone.

The Magpies claimed their first win in seven matches courtesy of a 2-1 win at Aston Villa on Tuesday to take them four points clear of the bottom three.
However, Pardew knows they cannot ease up when they host European champions Chelsea on Saturday, followed by a trip to Tottenham the following weekend.
"Obviously, there is one massive target which we mustn't lose focus on, and that's to stay in the Premier League," said Pardew. "We are just going from game to game with a cup final mentality, and we will take that into Chelsea."
After losing Demba Ba to this Saturday's opponents, Newcastle have been boosted by a fruitful January transfer window, which has seen them recruit a number of players, including defender Mathieu Debuchy and midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
However, it is the rejuvenation of a more established player that most heartens Pardew, with striker Papiss Cisse showing signs at Villa of recapturing the form that saw him score 13 goals in 14 appearances after joining from Freiburg last January.
"When you are making runs and don't get any reward, there's a tendency to stop making them," said Pardew. "He was getting a bit frustrated and was forcing and being offside, when he was timing his runs so much better last year.
"Then suddenly he got his goal (at Villa) and his runs now look on time and he looks a different prospect. Chelsea will have to be on their guard against him."
