Manchester City and England defenders Steph Houghton and Lucy Bronze have been shortlisted for the FIFPro Women's World XI.

City captain Houghton, 28, and Bronze, 25, helped their team go through the Women's Super League season unbeaten last term as they cruised to the title for the first time.

United States captain and FIFA women's player of the year Carli Lloyd, who last week signed for the English champions on a short-term deal from the Houston Dash, was also included on the 55-player shortlist.

She was joined by two other WSL international stars - Swedish goalkeeper Hedvig Lindahl and Swiss forward Ramona Bachmann, both of Chelsea.
