Croft extends Latics spell

Manchester City's Lee Croft has extended his loan spell at Oldham.In-form Oldham Athletic have been boosted by the news that Manchester City's Lee Croft will be allowed to extend his loan spell.
The League One outfit have recorded eight wins in their past nine games and this resurgent form has been helped by a trio of loan signings from The Premiership.
Latics boss Brian Talbot is also looking to extend the loan spells of Neil Kilkenny and Mark Hughes, from Birmingham and Tottenham respectively.
Talbot has spoken of his gratitude towards his Manchester City counterpart Kevin Keegan, who has encouraged Croft's prolonged stay at Boundary Park.
"Kevin has been extremely helpful, Lee Croft has performed very well over the past six games and hopefully he will continue to do so for the next month,'' Talbot informed the club's official website.
''Kevin has not been able to commit himself to a longer period at the moment as he is operating on a small squad and I fully understand the situation but I know he will help us as much as he can."
Meanwhile, young Latics defender Marc Tierney has joined Carlisle on a month's loan.
