Manchester City have ended their interest in Steed Malbranque.
Manchester City have ended their interest in Steed Malbranque despite making an improved bid to Fulham for the midfielder.
It is a blow to Eastlands boss Stuart Pearce who wanted the Frenchman to provide some creativity to his side.
Cottagers chief Chris Coleman had insisted this week that Fulham were not looking to sell any of their stars on the eve of the Premiership season.
The 25-year-old is understood to have indicated that he wants to remain with the West Londoners, despite Pearce's determination to bring him to Manchester.
Meanwhile, Fulham have appointed Craig Brown in a new role of international representative.
The former Scotland coach is to be involved in scouting for foreign players.
