Danny Mills's loan spell at Hull City has come to an end after he picked up a stress fracture.

The England international has picked up the problem in his shin and will be sidelined for around two months.

Mills' temporary spell was due to finish this weekend, so Hull have sent him back to Manchester City for treatment.

Mills impressed during his time at The KC Stadium and Hull are likely to maintain their interest, although a host of clubs - including former clubs Leeds and Norwich - are believed to be keen.

Meanwhile, Hull have been boosted by the news that long-term injury victim Stephen McPhee is approaching full fitness.

"Hopefully I can build that fitness up with a couple more reserve games and then see what happens after that," he said.
