Manchester City defender Matthew Mills has returned to the club after his loan spell at Colchester United.
The 20-year-old spent two months with The U's, making eight appearances as Geraint Williams' side continued their push for the play-offs.
Despite impressing at Layer Road, Mills has opted to return to The City of Manchester Stadium for the final weeks of the season.
Mills' exit is likely to give Pat Baldwin an opportunity to partner Wayne Brown in the centre of Colchester's defence.
Meanwhile, Colchester youngster Craig Hughes has linked up with Conference side Cambridge United on a one-month loan deal
Hughes will look to get some regular playing time with The Abbey Stadium club over the next month.
"Cambridge have six matches in the time I am there so it will be great for me to get a run of games if possible," he told Colchester's official website.
