Elano would welcome Ronaldinho to Eastlands with open arms, should Manchester City succeed in luring the Brazilian to Eastlands.
Thaksin Shinawatra's desire to make City a football super-power has seen not only Sven Goran Eriksson ruthlessly dismissed after just a solitary year at the helm, but also a host of stars linked with a summer switch to Manchester.
By far the biggest name of those linked is Ronaldinho, who in the past 18 months has lost his moniker as the world's finest player amid concerns over his fitness and lifestyle.
Should City land the Barcelona star it would still be regarded as a sensational coup though, albeit one that could reportedly cost them in the region of £200,000 per week.
One man who has worked with Ronaldinho close hand, with the national side, is Elano and he can see no reason why the forward would not grace the Premier League.
"This is not a common transfer, to move from Barcelona to Manchester City," Elano told Esporte.
"It is not something that is considered usual but I know the structure that the club has and I know it could be good for him.
"I hope he can go to Manchester. It would be a very important transfer for the club."
