Brown secures cover for Langfield for the first half of next season

Aberdeen have finalised the signing of Manchester City goalkeeper David Gonzalez on a six-month loan deal. The Colombian has been at City since January 2010, but has yet to play a first-team game for the club and had a spell on loan at Leeds United last season. Skysports.com revealed last week that Aberdeen had joined the chase for Gonzalez, with City keen for the 28-year-old to play first-team football. League One duo Rochdale and Yeovil Town were also interested in the shot-stopper, but Gonzalez has opted for a move to the SPL. He will provide an extra option in Craig Brown's squad at Pittodrie in the first half of the campaign with last season's first choice Jamie Langfield currently sidelined. Langfield is recovering after suffering a seizure and is not expected to play again before October, so Brown was keen to bring in a keeper on a temporary basis.
