French side call off striker pursuit

Paris Saint Germain have ended their interest in Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez. The French club have held talks with Tevez's agent about a possible move to the Parc des Princes as they look to beat AC Milan and Inter Milan to the Argentine's signature. However, talks are thought to have broken down with Tevez declaring his preference to join AC Milan before the transfer window closes. PSG general manager Leonardo has now confirmed that they have ended their interest in Tevez. "We stopped the negotiations," Leonardo told L'Equipe. "There was an opportunity, we have studied it and made a good offer but failed to agree. "We will not exaggerate in our proposals. So we stop. It's over." PSG have been linked with Brazilian duo Kaka and Leandro Damiao as alternatives to Tevez, but Leonardo has played down the prospect of signing either player. "Kaka? Nothing. Leandro Damiao? He does not move during this winter window," concluded Leonardo.
