Joleon Lescott is hoping former side Everton can help drag Manchester United back within reach of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.
United opened up an eight-point lead over their neighbours on Sunday, beating QPR 2-0 before the Blues lost 1-0 at Arsenal, leaving City needing favours from other sides in order for them to clinch the club's first title since 1968.
United face Wigan at the DW Stadium on Wednesday, Lescott's boyhood side Aston Villa on Sunday, and Everton, before the Manchester derby showdown on April 30th, which can be seen live on Sky Sports 1 HD.
Lescott told the Manchester Evening News: "There'll definitely be a bit more than text messages going back to Goodison Park, maybe phone calls.
"It's out of our hands now but we can dictate how we finish in the league and how close to United we finish. It's definitely not over.
"We're going to keep fighting until the end, and hopefully some of the teams that are fighting relegation help us out against United.
"We owe that to the club and especially to the fans."
