Aston Villa's Gabriel Agbonlahor has told Sky Sports News HQ that Fabian Delph's decision to snub Manchester City is a massive boost ahead of the new season.

Forward Agbonlahor says that Delph's decision to stay at Villa Park proves just how big a club Villa is.

He said: "Like any Villa fan you are going to be over the moon to keep your best players. A lot of players have left over the last 10 years and for him to stay shows his commitment to the club and how much he loves playing for the club, so credit to him.

Gabby Agbonlahor says Fabian Delph could play for any team in the Premier League, and his choice to stay at Villa Park shows how big a club Aston Villa is.

"I think he is good enough to play for any side in the Premier League and I think he'd start in most Premier League teams.

"I don't think many people realise just how much of a big club Aston Villa is; you look at the fan-base, the stadium, the training ground and the history.

"It's a massive club and if you ask him, he enjoys playing for the club and he feels at home here."

Villa are currently on a pre-season training camp in Portugal where they play Sporting Braga at the Estadio da Nora, Albufeira, on Friday with a 6.30pm kick-off.
