MIDDLESBROUGH have dismissed rumours that they have agreed a £500,000 fee with Millwall over Australian defender Lucas Neill.
Reports had suggested that the 23-year-old wing back was on the verge of completing a move to the Riverside and only had to agree personal terms before making the switch.
However, a Middlesbrough club spokesman told planetfootball.com: "We have heard nothing at this end - as far as we're concerned it's just pure speculation."
Neill, who is out of contract with The Lions at the end of the season, has been heavily linked with the Teessiders who are known to be looking for a left-back and a striker - possibly Neill's Millwall colleague Neil Harris.
Although it would still appear a distinct possibility that Boro may make a move for the talented Aussie, news that the deal is all but done would appear to be premature at best.
