The Australian shot-stopper has signed a two-month loan deal at Millmoor and he will act as cover for the injured Gary Montgomery.
Millers boss Ronnie Moore has been desperately searching for a keeper as back-up for first choice Mike Pollitt with the Division One campaign kicking off this weekend.
Moore had been linked with moves for former Sheffield United keeper Simon Tracey and ex-Burnley custodian Marlon Beresford, but he has now sealed a deal for Jones.
Jones is highly-rated at Middlesbrough, but is well down the pecking order and the club are willing to loan him out for regular first-team football.
