The Viola agreed a loan deal for the winger with Lazio, after they were the shock beneficiaries of the farcical Italian Serie B changes.
Manfredini was also being watched closely by Premiership Middlesbrough and Ancona, but Fiorentina appear to have won the race for his signature.
The Italian second division is supposed to kick off with extra teams this year following a number of strange occurrences, but Fiorentina's inclusion is perhaps the most bizarre event.
In fact the league's status is still completely impossible to predict after 19 teams tendered their resignations, as a protest to the goings on.
The Florence side are expected to meet with Lazio in the coming days to tie-up the final details of the deal for a player who had a major impact for Chievo two seasons ago.
The winger earned himself a high-profile move to Lazio, but has not had the expected impact and is keen to get his career back on track elsewhere.
