The Hammers have already signed Adam Nowland and Nigel Reo-Coker from The Dons this year and now McAnuff has joined the pair at Upton Park.
Hammers chief Alan Pardew believes he is steadily building a side capable of returning to The Premiership.
"He is a great prospect and a confident lad," Pardew told the club's website. "He was another player that really wanted to come to us, which really appealed to me.
"The word is getting out that these young players have a chance, if they come to West Ham, of reaching the goals they want to in their career."
Pardew believes the midfielder will bolster his options for the remainder of the season.
He added: "He has got fantastic speed and unlocks doors - and really causes defences a problem because he travels with the ball quickly.
"I think he is another player West Ham fans are going to enjoy and we now have three options on the right-hand side, when we had none before.
"We have Marlon who is doing it to the best of his ability, bearing in mind he is an out and out striker really - he is doing terrifically well.
"He has now got McAnuff and Sebastien Carole as competition."
McAnuff joins another former Don at Upton Park, having played alongside David Connolly at Wimbledon.
In other news, Robbie Stockdale has returned to Middlesbrough following the end of his loan stint at West Ham.
