QPR have failed to land Middlesbrough defender Andrew Davies on loan.Queens Park Rangers have failed with their attempts to land Middlesbrough defender Andrew Davies on loan.
Loftus Road boss Ian Holloway was hoping to bring the 20-year-old to the West London outfit for a loan spell, with the busy holiday fixture list on the horizon.
Boro, however, have told QPR that the youngster is needed as squad cover for Steve McClaren's first team.
The news is sure to frustrate Holloway, as he aims to boost his squad for the matches to come.
One player due to leave QPR is Australian midfielder Richard Johnson after the player mutually agreed to a termination to his contract this week.
The 30-year-old, who joined QPR from Stoke City back in February, has decided to look for pastures new after failing to make an impact at Loftus Road this term.
The former Watford and Colchester United player recently spent time on loan at League One side Milton Keynes Dons, but will now part to find a club in the New Year.
