QPR have completed the signing of Middlesbrough defender Andrew Davies.Queens Park Rangers have completed the signing of Middlesbrough defender Andrew Davies.
The highly-rated stopper has joined on loan with a view to a permanent deal.
QPR, who failed to land Davies earlier this month, rekindled their interest over the weekend after the England Under-21 star decided he would like the chance to return to Loftus Road - where he enjoyed a loan spell in January.
Meanwhile, the club have abandoned their interest in Bristol City midfielder Tommy Doherty.
QPR had a bid rejected for the Northern Ireland international and will not be making a renewed offer.
"We made an offer to Bristol City last week to take Tommy Doherty, initially on loan, until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent deal if all parties were in agreement," chief executive Mark Devlin told the club's website.
"However, we also made it clear that we would have needed to complete the deal prior to our game against Watford to make the arrangement worthwhile and we are not prepared to be held to ransom in terms of the fee.
"Nothing materialised and it now seems very unlikely that any deal will now arise involving Tommy Doherty this season.
"The manager has alternatives in mind and we will now concentrate our efforts elsewhere."
