Chris Day is joining Oldham with Ross Turnbull heading for Crewe Alexandra.
Oldham Athletic manager Ronnie Moore has ended his search for a new goalkeeper by snapping up Chris Day.
The Latics had lined up Middlesbrough's Ross Turnbull but the deal collapsed when the Teessiders refused Oldham permission to play him in any cup ties.
Moore decided to review the situation again and has managed to land free agent Day on a two-year contract.
The 30-year-old played against The Latics in a friendly last Friday for Crewe Alexandra but, ironically, The Railwaymen have now turned to Turnbull.
Dario Gradi is on the verge of landing the Boro rookie on a six-month loan contract from the Premiership club.
