Middlesbrough have completed the signing of Belgium international Jelle Vossen on a season-long loan from Belgian Pro League side Racing Club Genk.
The 25-year-old striker came through the youth system at Genk before going on to score 105 goals in 244 appearances for the club.
Vossen has 12 caps for his country, netting on two occasions, and he played across various youth levels before making the step up to the senior team.
Subject to Football League and international clearance, Vossen will become the Teessiders' second deadline day signing after Yanic Wildschut arrived on a two-year deal from Dutch side Heerenveen.
“I’m really happy to be here. It took some time to get things right but I’m very happy that I can start a new challenge and try to get some good results with the team,” Vossen told the club's official website.
“From the beginning I had a great feeling about Middlesbrough and a lot of confidence in the move. I knew they wanted me badly, so it was very important for me to make the step.
“It was amazing and crazy seeing all the fans on Twitter – I followed it even though I didn’t react every day, but it was really nice to see.
"Now my goal is to give those people something back, together with the team. This is a huge club with a huge fan base so I will work very hard."
