Football League clubs are running out of time to bring in players on loan - and if they needed any further encouragement, we've picked out a whole squad of players doing the business for their temporary employers...
Once the loan window shuts at 5pm on Thursday, November 26, managers in the Sky Bet Championship, League One and League Two will have to wait until January to bolster their ranks, barring a goalkeeping crisis.
Plenty of clubs have already borrowed top-flight talent - old heads as well as promising youngsters - and are reaping the benefits.
Opting for a 4-3-3 formation, here's our pick of star loanees....
JORDAN PICKFORD
The on-loan Sunderland man has kept nine clean sheets this season at Preston, including six on the spin during October and November.
MARNICK VERMIJL
Having cut his teeth in the Manchester United youth team that included Paul Pogba, Joshua King, Robbie Brady and Revel Morrison, Vermijl is currently also on loan at Preston from his current club Sheffield Wednesday. He has made 14 appearances in the very well organised Lilywhites backline.
MIKE WILLIAMSON
"He has brought a lot of experience and physical presence to the back four," said Wolves manager Kenny Jackett after he extended Williamson's loan from Newcastle after keeping three clean sheets in his first three games.
FERNANDO AMOREBIETA
The Venezuelan centre-half re-joined Middlesbrough on loan from Fulham at the start of the campaign having made a strong impact when on Teesside last season. He's made 11 appearances as Boro have put themselves in a good position to win promotion to the Premier League.
PAUL KONCHESKY
Along with opening a pie-and-mash shop in Essex, the Leicester City man has been busy running up and down the left-flank QPR this season.
AINSLEY MAITLAND-NILES
"I'm learning a lot more, I feel like I'm fitting in well and I think a lot of that's down to the players and the manager." A quote which will be music to the ears of his boss Arsene Wenger. The Arsenal man has played 17 times for Ipswich this season and could have a big part to play as the Tractor Boys attack the play-off places.
JOE COLE
Injuries have disrupted the former England international's spell at Coventry from Aston Villa but he's been a shining light when making it onto the field. The League One high filers are unbeaten when Cole has featured in a match and he scored a scintillating free-kick in the 4-3 win over Barnsley.
JACOB MURPHY
The on-loan Norwich man has scored six goals in his last four games for Coventry, who have utilised the loan market to great effect. Murphy dedicated his first senior hat-trick at Coventry to goalkeeping coach Steve Ogrizovic, who has been teaching him about to how fool a 'keeper when through on goal.
CHUBA AKPOM
The Arsenal striker joined Hull on loan in August, and he's been a regular starter on their rise to the top of the Championship as they bid for an immediate return to the Premier League.
MATEJ VYDRA
Reading forked out £2.5million to bring Vydra in on loan from Watford, where he scored 20 goals in 27 Championship starts in the 2012-13 season. He's yet to really hit top gear at the Madejski Stadium but has won over the Reading fans with some enthusiastic performances.
ADAM ARMSTRONG
While Newcastle struggle to find the back of the net, their talented young forward is League One's top scorer with Coventry. Tony Cottee feels Newcastle should recall their man, telling Soccer Special: "I'd be astonished if Adam Armstrong does not go back to Newcastle in January. I would put him straight into their team alongside Mitrovic, or even just as a sub who could come on. He is a local lad, keen as anything, a good player, he scores goals, has pace, strong."
