Fulham boss Jean Tigana is believed to have inquired about taking the talented player on a short-term deal with a view to a permanent transfer if he impresses in his spell at the club.
The Frenchman does not want to have a similar situation on his hands as he had on Saturday when he was without three of his first-choice forwards in Louis Saha, Luis Boa Morte, and Barry Hayles and Fulham went down to a shock home defeat to promotion chasers Birmingham City.
The former Sheffield Wednesday ace, though, is unlikely to favour a loan to West London as he is said to prefer a move back to his native Italy, with Reggina leading the chase to sign the diminutive star.
The 30-year-old forward has found himself out in the cold at Valley Parade since the arrival of Jim Jefferies at the club and he has been made available for transfer by the former Hearts manager, as he tries to stamp his own authority on the club.
Bradford are keen to get the player off their wage list, as he is thought to be earning in the region of £40,000, but his personal demands could kill off any possible move.
Reggina have stalled over the player's wage demands and a move before the end of the season back to Serie A looks increasingly unlikely, as the Italian transfer window approaches this week and Carbone is expected to sit tight at Valley Parade until the summer.
