Supporters of the club are concerned that three players have been allowed to leave while only one new recruit has been brought in and now Girondins boss Elie Baup is looking to boost his strike force.
Baup had been interested in The Cottagers' Portuguese international but his price tag, along with his fresh injury blow has scuppered any attempt to bring him to Parc Lescure.
With Montpellier holding out for big money for French Under-21 international Toifilou Maoulida, Baup has now turned his attention to Brazilian striker Robert Pinto de Souza.
The 21-year-old current ply's his trade in Switzerland with Servette of Geneva, and Bordeaux are hoping to lure him to France.
The Swiss outfit are likely to agree to let him leave on an initial six-month loan deal, with a permanent move being discussed after that.
