The 23-year-old defender has impressed in his three appearances for The Blades since his switch from The Cottagers, and Neil Warnock was keen to hang on to him for a further month.
The former Chelsea star performed well in United's 5-0 demolition of Bradford City on Saturday, and is enjoying his time in South Yorkshire.
"Jon is loving it up here and is delighted that we have asked Fulham to allow him to stay for a second month," said Warnock.
Saturday's mauling of The Bantams was due to be Harley's final game of his loan spell but he will now remain at Bramall Lane for a further month, and is expected to play in Saturday's visit of Crystal Palace.
Rob Ullathorne is still out after his double hernia operation leaving Harley to have a good run in the side, although he may not be allowed to play in the Worthington Cup tie with Sunderland, as Fulham are also still in the competition.
Warnock has requested that he be allowed to play against Sunderland but Jean Tigana is still thinking over the request that would leave Harley cup-tied.
